Our Principles
Here are 8 design principles that guide our
design approach and output.

Feeling
If something doesn’t feel right or feels neutral, we don’t do it.

Singular, confident voice
Start from the inside and create something that’s true, bold, and clear.

Meaningful
Nothing is decorative—everything we do has meaning. We discuss and critique objectively and pragmatically—that means logic over taste.

Refreshingly creative
Our work should feel fresh to the nonprofit space. We love out-of-category metaphors and references

Radically collaborative
Communication over perfection. We value discussing and critiquing work earlier over waiting until it’s in a slides deck.

Flexible
We’re modular over rigid, with no ego. We create identities that are flexible, and we’re okay with moving meetings around to accommodate everyone’s ever-changing schedules.

Anti-racist
We always strive to decolonize and divest from traditional practices—yes, that means even the typography we recommend to clients.

Accessible
Belonging is a first-class citizen. We’re inclusive, equitable, usable, and aim to create work that’s loved by all.
